The twins
Jimmy Hale
Our player character. A mountain kid from Riggins, Idaho, who wakes on Illyria in a body that isn’t quite his — and handles it with jokes.
Steve Hale
Jimmy’s twin brother. They were separated at a young age: Jimmy got the mountains, Steve got the silver spoons.
Kyle
Jimmy’s “other” twin brother. It’s a long story…
New Haven
Cmdr. Rafael Torres
New Haven’s leader, a naval mind from Recife who keeps the camp moving through rain and short supplies. His advice to Jimmy: “You just concentrate on what needs done.”
Marta
Runs the kitchen tarp that makes a crash site feel like a camp. Better food is love here, not a scoreboard.
William Abel
Robotics engineer by way of Guadalajara and Houston — the quiet craft spine of the camp. Gentle, loyal, dry.
Dr. Samantha “Sam” Kaur
Chief Medical Officer. Tired competence, fiercely protective, and the one who stays up when the implants act strange.
Matt & Julie
Just kids when Sovereign left Earth, and grown up now. Matt leads teams into the field; Julie carries the commander’s messages across camp at top speed, usually on a mountain bike.
Also around camp: Jennifer, the launch-site medic who stayed with Jimmy through the scramble; Katheryn, a New Haven medic; Lena Voss, who watches the fields so the camp can eat; and Mary Johnson, who keeps the fabricators turning scrap into tools.
Back on Earth
Clara Hale, the woman who raised Jimmy in Riggins, is a long way from Illyria now. The DRP had faces too, if you can call them that: Barb Lader’s clipboard, a monotone Collector Bot, a Taxi Bot that knew the wrong roads at the right time, and a Cyberbug waiting in a Midland park.
Aisling
Wilda O’Kelly
Keeper of the Lantern & Lilt. Sharp tongue, good stew, and the stew isn’t free.
Also in Aisling: Mayor Rory Ryan; Maeve Griffin, herbalist at Lily & Loom; Gabriela O’Rourke, the village doctor; workshop craftswomen Moira and Sorcha; and Siobhan (shi-VAWN) and her daughters, Saoirse (SEER-sha) and Niamh (NEEV).
Lada
Guran & Zorya
Leaders of the underground people: mountain stubbornness under a filled valley. Vuk and Vera keep the forge going.
Serenity
Dr. Akira Shimizu
Medical specialist and civic lead of the plateau city. Clinical polish, and doors New Haven can’t open alone.
